This class requires a web camera for filming and uploading speeches. This would mean a camera either hooked to your computer or built in to your laptop. This course also requires an audience for two speeches. One speech in week 4 requires three adult audience members and another speech in week 7 requires 5 adult members. Having less audience member does not fulfill the requirements. You cannot pass the class without fulfilling these requirements.
COM 211 Mediated Oral Presentation Through Technology: Presents students with the communication fundamentals for public speaking in a technological environment. This course will provide distance learning students with the ability to fulfill the Core Studies Oral communication skills requirement through a course in the online format which offers the same rhetorical presentation theories which are the basis for the current COM 210 Public Speaking course and adapts the course to the existing and emerging online presentation environment. This class will take advantage of existing technology for students to post their speeches in an online format and prepares students for effective presentation in various speech methods, settings and audiences
